We are thrilled to announce that Leandro Addarich, a former National Institute for Congestion Reduction (NICR) student, has been chosen as a 2024 Minority Student Fellow by the Transportation Research Board (TRB). This remarkable recognition is a testament to Leandro’s exceptional contributions and dedication to transportation research.
The TRB’s Minority Student Fellows are selected based on their active engagement and outstanding achievements in the field of transportation research. Leandro Addarich’s selection as one of the Fellows is a well-deserved acknowledgment of his exceptional efforts.
Last year, Leandro actively participated in the NICR program as a research assistant, working under the guidance of Dr. Daniel Rodríguez on the NICR project “Optimizing Service Areas to Reduce Congestion and Enhance Equity in Access to Transportation Systems.” His contributions demonstrated a keen understanding of transportation challenges and a commitment to innovative solutions.
Among the 21 student Fellows, four are from the University of Puerto Rico at Mayagüez. Leandro’s achievement reflects his personal excellence and highlights the caliber of students at the university.
We extend our heartfelt congratulations to Leandro Addarich for this remarkable accomplishment. His selection as a 2024 TRB Minority Student Fellow inspires the entire NICR community and reflects the quality education and research opportunities provided by the University of Puerto Rico at Mayagüez and NICR.
