Luz Gabriela Rivera Pérez is a student at the University of Puerto Rico at Mayagüez studying civil engineering. Luz decided to focus on transportation engineering for her master’s degree after falling in the love with the topic during her undergraduate career. Luz has worked on NICR projects since 2020, and she has worked alongside faculty members on NICR project “4-3: Freeway Incident Detection and Management Using Unmanned Aircraft Systems.” In her spare time, Luz enjoys playing the saxophone and hanging out with family and friends. She also enjoys binge-watching television shows and going to the beach. Luz plans to go into the workforce after graduating, but she hasn’t ruled out continuing with her studies.
