In December 2022, the University of Puerto Rico at Mayagüez (UPRM) participated in outreach projects for both high school and UPRM students, which have generated significant interest among students. This event exposed high school students to university-level coursework and research opportunities while providing college students with opportunities to serve as mentors and role models. The outreach projects also aim to promote science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) education and encourage students to pursue higher education. The UPRM outreach projects have been successful in engaging students, inspiring them to explore their interests and potential career paths, and building lasting partnerships between UPRM and the local community.
