Freeway Incident Detection and Management Using Unmanned Aircraft Systems Virtual Summit

This summit will present new technologies and innovations applicable to congestion mitigation and to assist towards 2030 Vision for the Transportation System in Puerto Rico and Tackle Freeway Congestion. Innovations such as the use of drones for highway corridor evaluation and Every Day Counts (EDC) initiatives (specifically Crowdsourcing and Next Generation TIM) will be presented. The Consortium between the University of Puerto Rico – Mayagüez (UPRM) and the University of South Florida (USF) will also present the research efforts through the National Institute for Congestions Reduction (NICR) associated with artificial intelligence applications for traffic management, as well as the protocols developed.
