This presentation highlights the findings of the latest edition of the Urban Mobility Report (UMR). The 2021 UMR provides congestion data trends from 1982 to 2020 for the largest metropolitan areas in the U.S., including the impacts of the pandemic on traffic levels in 2020.
About the Presenter:
Dr. William (Bill) Eisele is a Senior Research Engineer at the Texas A&M Transportation Institute where he also leads the Mobility Division. He is a recognized expert in the areas of mobility analysis, freight mobility, urban freight transportation, performance measurement, and access management. For over 26 years, Dr. Eisele has performed research for a variety of industry and public-agency sponsors. Dr. Eisele is a co-author on TTI’s Urban Mobility Report, which provides mobility statistics and trends for metropolitan areas throughout the United States. Dr. Eisele also leads a Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) pooled fund study of 16 state departments of transportation, the Washington D.C. DOT and FHWA on the topic of urban mobility. He has been active with the Transportation Research Board (TRB) throughout his career, and he currently serves as Chair of the TRB Urban Freight Transportation Committee.
