2020 Interns Presentation Day
The Texas A&M Transportation Institute (TTI) begins the 8th year of its internship program this summer. The National Institute of Congestion Reduction is a proud partner of the 2021 program. TTI has held internship programs with the Safe-D, CARTEEH, ATLAS (2014-2016), and other University Transportation Centers with a focus on health, safety, and transportation. Funding within each Center allows for 2-6 students and pairs these rising seniors with a research mentor through UTC projects and other TTI research for a 10-week immersive research experience.

Laura Higgins, internship coordinator and researcher at TTI
Students work on a variety of projects including literature reviews, data collection and analysis, and final products. Since each student’s academic background is different, each internship is completely unique, catering to the student’s future goals in the transportation industry.
“We just have fantastic students,” said Laura Higgins, internship coordinator and researcher at TTI. “They’re smart, energetic. It’s fun watching them learn and grow on a research team. We are so proud of everyone that has participated in this program, and we look forward to another great summer.”
